Swing Statehood

Sweater: Macy's, Chambray: PacSun, Pants: Tommy Hilfiger

I walked to my local voting locale yesterday morning and I must say, I much enjoyed that early morning stroll. I got all bundled up in my winter coat and scarf, threw on a headband and headed off into the brisk morning air to cast my vote. It was my first time going to the actual polls. The last time I voted was also my first time, and I had an absentee ballot that allowed me to complete it while sitting on my couch.

This time was different and I must say that I was not sure what to expect, only thinking I would be waiting for a while based on what the pros had told me. But low and behold, it was a total breeze and actually a bit of fun! I cruised right in and though I did not realize there was an additional step after I filled out my paper ballot and looked like a rookie, it all ended smoothly. And I have lived in the lovely swing state of Ohio my whole life so it makes it that much more exciting to see the outcome. And to be rid of all those swing state political ads, well, that in itself is enough to celebrate. So bring on the regular TV commercials media giants! I have been waiting.

  1. My voting was a breeze too. I think I just hit it at the right time and only had to wait 10 minutes or so in line. It must be pretty interesting living in Ohio during election season when it looks like each canidate is running for President of Ohio. (Ha!) You must get 4 times as many political ads and calls!

    1. That is so true! And I gave up on having a home phone but yes, the number of phone calls that come during an election year is ridiculous! But at least that was one campaigning tactic I was able to avoid!

  2. Stopping by from WIWW- I love the way the chambray and sweater look together! Professional, but chic outfit :)

    1. You're too sweet! Sometimes it's hard to be trendy and professional but I think this strikes a nice balance.
